Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)
We are looking for nurses who like a quickly changing work environment, which involves critical thinking. Cline Emergency Unit is a 22-bed, Level 3 designated Trauma Center. We care for a patient population that includes all ages. Our staff is a well-oiled machine that is quick to respond to any emergency. We are part of the Arkansas SAVES family for excellence in stroke care. Several of our nurses recently became SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) certified. Our team is a vital part of our cardiovascular program. Our nurses work very closely with the physicians as they are on the unit 24/7. Our Emergency Department provides training to increase our knowledge and skills, including ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, SANE, and a multitude of trauma related education. SUMMARY: This position is filled by a registered nurse who, as a result of educational and clinical experience in emergency nursing, possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide nursing care; applies knowledge to act as a change agent, role model and leader; coordinates the care of patients within the emergency patient population; ensures quality focused and cost-effective care delivery outcomes; utilizes theory, research, and specialized knowledge to plan care for the patient; functions within a collaborative practice to enhance quality of care; interprets, evaluates and communicates research findings; and participates in continuous quality improvement activities.
Responsible and accountable for direct patient care for assigned patients in the emergency department and providing leadership within the nursing team. Responsible and accountable for the care given to the patient and for the decision regarding which nursing tasks can be safely delegated to licensed and unlicensed persons involved in patient care. Must be competent in a wide variety of nursing skills. Responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care and promoting a team effort among co-workers. Responsible and accountable to know, own and energize the vision, mission, values and standards of the hospital.
BAXTER HEALTH COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Understands and adheres to Baxter Health standards and policies.
Required to work with the Nurse Director regularly to carryout, initiate and/or implement best practices.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure: Current Arkansas or Compact State Registered Nurse license in good standing.
Experience: Minimum of one year RN experience required.
Certifications: BLS required, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required within one year of employment.
Other: Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Basic computer knowledge required.
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree

Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and twist up to or exceeding 8-12 hours. Occasionally requires lifting of 50 pounds or more of equipment, able to push in excess of 150 pound wheelchair with patient and equipment, and occasionally lifts patients with assist 125 pounds or more using proper body mechanics. Spends eight hours or more in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse. Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations such as CPR and obtaining equipment. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure. Has a keen sense of hearing and keen visual acuity to respond to critical changing patient situations from actual observations and/or equipment alarms. May be subject to inside environmental conditions, hazards (including electrical currents and exposure to high heat and chemicals) and infectious diseases. May have to function around prisoners or those in behavioral health crisis.

Office setting, within a hospital environment
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a position in a hospital setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Potential for work on rotating shifts. Holiday and work during inclement weather will be required. You may be asked to work longer hours and assignments may change during your shift. Floating to other areas is occasionally required based on hospital needs. Seasonal call shifts are required.
