Summary:

Responsible for verifying patient demographics and health insurance coverage while ensuring that all documentation necessary for the billing of ambulance transportation claims is obtained promptly from field staff for all billable events. Responsible for effectively communicating with EMT’s, Field Supervisors, Director of Operations and other management and support staff to obtain documentation necessary for billing and compliance.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Must Possess High School Diploma or GED
2. Must possess knowledge of medical documentation.
3. Must possess knowledge of obtaining insurance coverage for patients.
4. Must possess a high degree of personal integrity and responsibility.
5. Must have the ability to simultaneously manage multiple activities with minimal errors.
6. Must have the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, using good judgment.
7. Certified Ambulance Coder, Medical Office professional, dispatcher, or biller are all desirable
8. Basic CPR card within 90 days of employment
9. Completion of EMS/Ambulance coding course in the first year of employment.
