Job Description
*$3,000 sign-on bonus for applicants who have zero seniority at CMH and who meet all other conditions for payment**
**To receive sign-on bonus, applicant must sign an offer letter by December 31, 2024, and begin working within three weeks of that acceptance. Full details of payment conditions can be obtained from Human Resources.
ELIGIBLE FOR CMH EMPLOYEE REFERRAL BONUS: PRIORITY RECRUITMENT
The Infusion Nurse provides Infusion services including chemotherapy service to the oncology patients by assessing, planning, directing, evaluating, and performing skills related to care. Possesses the skills and judgment to act quickly, knowledgeably, and appropriately in any situation that may occur. Coordinates all services necessary for the care of assigned patients including education, administration of medication, treatments etc. Administers medication as ordered through vascular access devices such as central lines, port a caths, PICC lines, etc. Assists physicians with procedures as appropriate and administers infusion services as ordered.Job Requirements
A thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedures; knowledge and skills in techniques of good patient care whether medical or surgical, including multiple monitoring techniques. Demonstrates proficient computer skills. Must be flexible as needs arise and possess willingness to acquire new skills and adapt to a changing environment. Must possess assessment skills for all age groups. Must be familiar with chemotherapy “OCN” standards, practices, and recommendations. Must be able to read and write English, as well as speak and understand English. Must be able to operate office machines, as well as medical related equipment
License/Certification:
• Current active and unencumbered Oregon RN license
• Current Washington RN license
• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
• ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card required prior to working with Chemotherapy, obtained before start date or during the first week of hire.
Education and/or Experience: Minimum Education: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing. Minimum Experience: A thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedure, and skills and techniques for adult care. Must possess assessment skills. Two years acute care experience required. Port or infusion experience preferred. For RNs graduating within the last 12 months, or RNs that have not practiced in an acute care facility within the last 24 months and have not previously completed a residency program will be required to complete the CMH-provided Nurse Residency program.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
Works inside. Normal or corrected vision is required to monitor patient. Occasionally will work extended hours or variation of usual shift and will be dependent on patient requirements. Ability to lift and transfer patients is required, usually with the assistance of co-workers, but some occasional lifting without assistance. Normal or corrected hearing is necessary to distinguish differences in monitor alarms, heartbeats, and breathing. Manual dexterity is required to operate equipment. Subject to physical and emotional stress of work environment. Must be willing and committed to safe management of potentially infectious diseases and the handling of toxic drug therapies. Required to use personal protective apparel. Subject to occasional physical and emotional stress within a fast-paced environment. Pushes/pulls loaded adult stretchers, beds, wheelchairs, crash carts and equipment carts. Transfers patients to/from cars, stretchers, beds, chairs and ambulates as necessary. Tolerates bending, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying for 8 – 12 hours (shift dependent). Lifts or carries up to 50 lbs.
