The Opportunity: The Registered Nurse (RN) at Foundry provides accessible, youth-centred, culturally safe, and trauma-informed nursing care to young people aged 12–24. As part of an interdisciplinary team, the RN conducts health assessments, delivers treatment and health education, and supports prevention and early intervention initiatives. The RN works collaboratively to coordinate care, reduce barriers to service, and promote positive physical, sexual, and mental health outcomes for youth and their families, while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.

• Optimizing capacities for health by modelling, counselling and teaching life skills for individual patients/clients and their caregivers/families.
• Promoting and facilitating patient/client independence.
• Provide non-judgmental and pro-choice counselling on contraception management, healthy sexuality, STI education, testing and treatment.
• Promote a safe place for diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ people.
• Provide immunizations and immunization counselling using evidence-based information and as per BCCDC standards.
• Administration of ordered medications, including antipsychotic injections.
• Support the delivery of substance use and addiction care for clients with Opioid Use Disorder and other Substance Use Disorders.

What You Will Bring to The Role:

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and/or Registered Nurse;
• Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Acceptable experience in a clinical health setting or cross-cultural health promotion field

Wage Range: The target hiring range for this position is $46.91 to $59.44 per hour. Candidates will typically be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the wage range. Placement within the wage range is dependent on the applicants’ role specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and in consideration of factors such as market conditions and internal equity.
