Job Description
Dental Assistant (Will Train)
No Dental Experience? No Problem! We Are Willing to Train the Right Candidate.
EXCELth Health is seeking a motivated and dependable Dental Assistant to join our team. We are willing to train individuals who have a strong work ethic, excellent customer service skills, and a desire to build a career in dental healthcare.
The Dental Assistant will support the dentist in both clinical and administrative duties, including preparing patients for procedures, sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up treatment rooms, and assisting during dental procedures. This role also provides patient support by offering care instructions, scheduling assistance, and a positive patient experience.
Our dental offices and mobile dental units provide comprehensive dental services to patients of all ages. EXCELth Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) offering dental, family practice, and behavioral health services. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving insured and uninsured patients regardless of income level.
Responsibilities:
Welcome patients to the dental office and help create a positive experience.
Prepare patients for treatments and examinations while ensuring their comfort.
Select and set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed for procedures.
Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards.
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Complete assigned laboratory tasks.
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment area.
Schedule patient appointments.
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures.
Support the dental team in delivering quality patient care.
Qualifications & Skills
Dental assisting experience preferred but not required.
Willingness to learn and be trained in dental assisting procedures.
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods is a plus.
Understanding of health and safety regulations is preferred.
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks, such as coronal polishing, is a plus.
Good computer skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Reliable, organized, and professional.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required.
Current CPR certification required (or ability to obtain shortly after hire).
Dental Assisting experience preferred but not required.
EDDA Certification preferred. Candidates willing to obtain certification after hire are encouraged to apply.
