About This Position

Interim Wellness Manager

Pay Range: $25 per hour + 40% commission on all personal training sessions.

Location: 2415 East Camelback Road, Phoenix, AZ located at the beautiful Esplanade.
Work Hours: This position follows a set Monday–Friday schedule within our 6:00am–6:00pm operating hours. Preferred hours are Mondays–Tuesdays 10:00am–6:00pm and Wednesdays–Fridays 6:00am–2:00pm. There is flexibility with these hours as long as a consistent schedule is agreed upon, with some flexibility to ensure a full 40-hour work week based on business needs.

Your Mission:
As the Interim Wellness Manager at Esplanade, you will oversee all fitness, health, and wellness amenities while partnering closely with the experience team. You will build strong relationships with fitness members and building employees. In this role, you will support and execute wellness programming and elevate the overall wellness and workplace experience at Esplanade.

By clearing the way for our members to achieve their best, you fuel both personal longevity and the building's commercial success, proving that when our people flourish, the entire asset rises.
Outcomes Youll Deliver:
  • Member Experience & Relationship Building: Serve as a primary point of contact for fitness members, building strong relationships, welcoming new participants, and creating a positive, inclusive environment that encourages retention and engagement.
  • Class & Program Execution: Oversee the day-to-day delivery of fitness programming including: teaching group classes, delivering personal training sessions, and assisting with site, public, and tenant events. Ensure all sessions are safe, engaging, and aligned with member needs.
  • Facility Oversight & Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, and fully functional fitness space. Ensure equipment is properly used and cared for, coordinate towel delivery, stock locker room consumables, and ensure daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. Order necessary supplies, monitor inventory, and track expenses.
  • Leadership & Accountability: Take ownership of your day-to-day responsibilities, prioritize tasks as needed, and maintain professionalism, organization, and attention to detail. Partner closely with the tenant experience team to support and serve building tenants.
  • Instructor Support & Coordination: Support yoga instructors by managing subbing requests. Ensure instructors have what they need to deliver a high-quality experience while maintaining consistency with programming standards and member expectations. Track contract instructors hours accurately for payroll.
  • Administrative: Schedule group fitness classes, track attendance and KPIs (e.g., member participation and fitness revenue), and support basic budgeting needs. Monitor engagement and gather feedback to help inform programming decisions and improve overall performance.
Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience managing wellness or fitness center operations, preferably in a corporate or luxury environment.
  • Nationally recognized Personal Training certification
  • 1+ years experience managing at least one full-time direct report
  • Proven experience owning operational standards, service delivery, and team performance in high-volume or high-touch environments.
  • Skilled in driving revenue and efficiency through utilization planning, staffing models, and resource management.
  • Effective escalation owner, resolving complex event issues quickly while protecting the guest experience.
  • Comfortable partnering cross-functionally with key stakeholders to deliver an exceptional experience.
  • Tech-savvy, with experience using booking, scheduling, and collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Slack, event platforms).
  • Adaptable and confident learning new systems for membership and program management.
