Requirements:

Summary (What/Why/Coverage)-Main Activities:

The maintenance reactive technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment whether it be electrical or mechanical according to safety, predictive and preventative maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of Fitesa’s business goals and objectives.

Technical Competencies:

  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to use a calculator
  • Ability to learn and become proficient with ERP (Dynamics), ADP, and other internal databases and tracking software
  • Ability to read and interpret Fitesa product codes, production schedules, and operations documents
  • Troubleshooting skills and good mechanical abilities
  • Ability to apply basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to read and interpret measurement from a ruler, tape measure, or other measuring device in standard and metric systems
  • Statistical Analysis skills with the ability to establish and audit against goals

Behavioral Competencies:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a team with other Slitter operators to ensure line goals are met; flexibility to help with packaging duties and/or other lines as needed

Key Responsibilities (What/How):

  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Perform a weekly checklist for machines and facilities.
  • Create Work orders on shift for all correctives and activities performed during the day.
  • Assist painting, carpentry, concrete, plumbing and masonry work
  • Assist in electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures
  • Assist in Basic HVAC maintenance activities.
  • Other duties, activities or responsibilities as assigned

Physical Demands:

This position requires frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 – 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The position requires frequent lifting, walks and stands for long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under extreme temperatures. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
