About This Position

Description:

Children’s Orthopaedic and Scoliosis Surgery Associates, LLP (COSSA) is a highly respected, physician-owned pediatric orthopaedic group with six fellowship-trained surgeons serving Florida’s West Central region. With offices in St. Petersburg, Tampa, and Lakewood Ranch, COSSA is the exclusive pediatric orthopaedic partner of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, a nationally ranked children’s hospital.

We are recruiting a General Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon with a strong interest in sports medicine to join our established Tampa Bay practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a sports-minded pediatric orthopaedist to build a high-volume clinical and surgical practice within a collaborative, well-established group.

Position Highlights
  • Established Tampa Bay market with strong referral base
  • High-volume pediatric and adolescent sports medicine, including fracture care and sports-related injuries
  • Broad-based general pediatric orthopaedics: trauma, hip, foot & ankle, neuromuscular, and sports
  • Opportunity to develop relationships with local schools, athletic programs, and community sports organizations
  • Strong clinical support from PAs, athletic trainers, nurses, and administrative staff
  • Excellent surgical access through Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital
  • Competitive base salary with productivity bonus
  • Comprehensive benefits, CME, profit sharing, and relocation assistance
  • Partnership track in a physician-owned practice
Ideal Candidate

We seek a fellowship-trained pediatric orthopaedic surgeon who enjoys caring for active children and adolescent athletes and values a generalist practice model. Subspecialty interests in sports medicine, hip preservation, foot & ankle, or trauma are welcome, but the ideal candidate is comfortable managing a wide spectrum of pediatric orthopaedic conditions and collaborating within a multispecialty group.

Why Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay offers an exceptional quality of life with year-round outdoor recreation, professional sports, vibrant neighborhoods, and world-class beaches, all with no state income tax. The region has a strong youth sports culture and a growing pediatric population, creating an ideal environment for a sports-focused pediatric orthopaedic practice.

Requirements:

  • Experience caring for youth and adolescent athletes, including acute injuries and overuse conditions
  • Interest in community outreach and relationship-building with local schools, athletic programs, and referring providers
  • Comfort practicing within a general pediatric orthopaedic call model
  • Collaborative mindset and interest in long-term partnership in a physician-owned group

  • Patient-centered approach to care
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including PAs, athletic trainers, and nursing staff
  • Commitment to ethical practice, professionalism, and continuous improvement
