Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Communications Supervisor, the Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the efficient and effective operation of the Communications department to include the mailroom.

• Responsible for assisting the Supervisor and Director with operating the department within the guidelines of the FTE budget, the operating budget and hospital policy.

• Reviewing relevant policies, confirming accuracy of procedural steps, consulting with the Supervisor for any needed changes and updating the code cards accordingly.

• Ensuring all training and department new hire materials are current, including current responsibilities of the role and current hospital policy. Ensure all updated training content is posted in Microsoft teams for ongoing reference.

• Coordinating follow-up training for the team and individuals by researching and compiling relevant materials to support understanding of policy changes, process updates, or software upgrades.

• Auditing guidebooks consistently to identify and implement needed updates.

• Creating and implementing written and verbal training. Ensure staff compliance and understanding.

• Continuously seeking out and incorporate additional resources that may benefit the department and hospital.

Experience: Two years of Communications/Dispatch/Switchboard experience. Attendant Console experience-Preferred

License/Certification/Education:

• High School or Equivalent-Required

Other- Available to work within a 24/7/365 hospital on-call setting.
