About This Position
The Lucy Corr Foundation is seeking a proactive and experienced Development Officer to drive our fundraising efforts, initially on a part-time basis, (25-29 hours per week). The position is designed with a defined path to transition into a full-time role within 6-12 months, contingent on successfully meeting certain parameters.
Reporting to the Interim Executive Director and Lucy Corr Foundation, the Development Officer will have responsibility for Lucy Corr Foundation. The candidate will initially develop deep knowledge of field, core programs, operations and business plans and understand the same for Lucy Corr Foundation.
The Development Officer is a passionate, mission-driven leader responsible for advancing the mission through strategic fundraising and meaningful relationship-building. The Development Officer leads all fundraising efforts with a strong focus on donor engagement, major gifts, and corporate partnerships working closely with the Commission, CEO, staff, and volunteers.
Requirements:Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and estate planners.
- Fundraising Campaigns: Plan and execute scheduled appeals, special events, and digital fundraising campaigns.
- Strategy Development: Collaborate with leadership to create a development work plan and budget to increase revenue.
- Qualified Donor Visits and Management: Researching funding sources, preparing grant proposals, and managing reporting requirements.
- Ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence and consistent quality of finance, administration, fundraising, communications and grants.
- Actively engage and energize partnering organizations, funders, board members, business community and volunteers.
- Support a strong board of directors and develop relationships with Lucy Corr staff and administration.
- Maintain systems to track progress and regularly evaluate program components, to measure success that can be effectively communicated to the board, grantors, and other constituents.
- Produce annual report, social media, and annual giving communications.
- Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support program operations.
- Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities.
Qualifications
The Development Officer will be thoroughly committed to the Lucy Corr Foundation’s mission. Incumbents must have proven leadership and relationship management experience. Demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field. Ideally holding a master’s degree, with at least five years of development experience
- Track record of effectively leading a development effort with specific examples of developing strategies that have helped an organization to grow. Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, or non-profit development
- Commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
- Excellence in management of strategic objectives and management of a budget
- Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders (including volunteers) and cultures
- Excellent written communication skills for donor communications and grant proposals.
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfort with direct donor solicitation
- Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative
- Passionate, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven and self-directed. Highly detailed oriented
- Must have valid driver’s license with reliable transportation for business-related travel.
