The role is based at DroneShield’s central Sydney headquarters. Overseas on-the-ground presence includes Virginia (USA), Netherlands, Denmark, Mexico and Dubai, as well as distributors in over 70 countries worldwide.
About the role
DroneShield is seeking a Project Manager with proven experience to join our growing Customer Delivery team in Sydney, NSW. Reporting to the Customer Delivery Manager, this role is responsible for the end-to-end coordination of project delivery activities across demonstrations, installations, training, and support.
The Project Manager works closely with Field Service Engineers, Sales Directors, and broader Operations and Technical teams to ensure high-quality customer engagement and timely project execution both domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations
- Manage and coordinate projects from customer engagement through delivery, installation, and post-delivery support
- Oversee resource planning and alignment across Field Service and Technical teams
- Support demonstration execution and readiness, including scenario planning and on-site coordination
- Maintain and manage DroneShield’s planning and delivery tools
- Develop and manage project documentation, including delivery plans, schedules, reports, and customer communication
- Interface with internal stakeholders (Sales, Engineering, Logistics, FSEs) to ensure alignment on project milestones
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards
- Participate in and lead project meetings with customers and partners
- Support compliance with safety, quality, and site administration protocols
- Create an environment of continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer focus
- Provide direct support to the Customer Delivery Manager on project reporting, delivery risks, and customer satisfaction
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position within the technology industry.
- Confidence to manage project delivery from inception to closure
- People management and leadership skills
- Australian Citizen and able to successfully obtain and maintain a minimum Baseline Security Clearance.
Desired
- Experience with customer engagement in a Defence (AUSDEFCON) or critical-engineering environment is desirable
- Experience with the systems engineering lifecycle from concept definition and requirements management to project delivery is desirable
- Project management qualification for example PMI/PMP, PRINCE2, SCRUM master is desirable
- Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience in: Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
