About This Position
Primary Job Function: To safely operate a 1-ton truck and gooseneck trailer usually within a 300-mile radius
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Drives truck with capacity of approximately 1 ton to transport and deliver parts and material - CDL Required
- Maintains telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location
- Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations
- Keeps record of materials and products transported
- Secures load to trailer using straps and/or chains making sure load is properly located and secured
- Cleans, inspects, and services vehicle
- Operates forklift to load and/or unload parts and material
- Assists in loading and unloading truck manually
- Adheres to all safety standards
- Be able to make overnight trips when needed
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications (Preferred):
- Specific Experience: Minimum of 2 years Truck-gooseneck trailer driving experience with a good driving record. May need to provide driving record.
- Formal Education: Graduation from an accredited High School or completion of GED program S
- Skills: Be able to read blueprints, control sheets and work instructions, legible handwriting
Physical Requirements of the Job:
Vision acuity, corrected or uncorrected, capable of reading documents, blueprints, gauges, equipment settings, calibration instruments, parts labels and written materials and inspecting fixture set up and work products.
Speech and hearing capacity appropriate for frequent person to person and phone-based conversations and meetings.
Able to move about fabrication plant with walking and other manufacturing environment hazards.
Frequent reaching with both hands, bending, pushing & pulling loads weighing several hundred pounds, lifting or maneuvering loads of 50 lbs, standing on concrete, tolerance for wearing protective apparel and devices. Tolerance for the odor of the adhesives used in the gluing process. Working frequently in a hot, noisy environment.
PPE:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to be worn on production floor at all times: Hearing protection, safety glasses and steel toe work boots or shoes.
PPE required when performing job specific task: Gloves are required if assisting in or applying adhesive to parts. Cut resistant gloves required when working on parts with sharp edges.
Any other PPE deemed necessary by supervisor or department head from changes in process
Mon-Fri, 7am - 3pm Overtime as needed.
