The Team

GFG’s Sustainability Team functions as a high-performance Center of Excellence (CoE). We are a multidisciplinary group of strategists and sustainability specialists who act as the bridge between GFG’s ambitious People & Planet Positive strategy and its complex regional operations across Australia, New Zealand, Latin America and Southeast Asia. Rather than a traditional administrative function, the team is built like a strategic tech unit, prioritising data integrity, radical transparency, and the rapid adoption of AI to drive decarbonisation.

Scope of Role

Sustainability reporting is no longer a yearly exercise, it is a continuous, high-integrity operation. As a Sustainability Analyst at GFG, you will be the architect of our digital ESG "Source of Truth." You will leverage AI-driven automation and the Google Workspace to ensure our climate and social data is not just compliant with CSRD/ESRS and any regional regulatory requirements, but is assurance ready at all times.

You will be reporting to the Head of Climate & Reporting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and you will support the delivery of GFG’s People & Planet Positive strategic objectives and science-based targets. You will be an integral part of the GFG sustainability journey enabling our operations and customers across the world towards embracing state of the art sustainability practices.

Key Responsibilities

  1. ESG Data Engineering & Governance
    1. Pipeline and Executive Dashboard Management: Design and maintain automated data collection pipelines using Google Workspace & high performance dashboards on Amazon Quicksight
    2. Audit-Ready Controls: Establish digital traceability for all KPIs. Ensure every data point in the annual report can be traced back to a source document (invoices, certificates etc.) within a structured Google ecosystem.
    3. Anomaly Detection: Use AI/Machine learning models to scan datasets for outliers or reporting errors and ensuring data integrity.
  2. Advanced Analytics
    1. Predictive Modeling: Develop “What-if” scenarios to forecast how operational changes can impact GFG’s carbon footprint
    2. Internal Transparency: Empower regional teams with self-service analytics, allowing them to monitor their own People & Planet Positive performance metrics.
  3. Regulatory Mastery (CSRD/ESRS & SBTi)
    1. Map GFG’s carbon and social data to ESRS requirements to meet CSRD mandates.
    2. Scope 3 Inventory: Transition GFG from spend-based estimates to activity-based carbon accounting for the supply chain, focusing on high-impact categories like Purchased Goods and Logistics.
    3. Assurance Lead: Act as the technical point of contact for external auditors, providing the methodology and evidence required for limited and reasonable assurance cycles.

How You’ll Succeed

  • You will support the implementation of the Group People & Planet Positive 2030 strategy which responds to the risks and opportunities related to social and environmental performance in fashion and ecommerce industry
  • You will conduct comprehensive and rigorous research into key sustainability topics to support projects
  • You will engage with internal stakeholders around the world, collaboratively working with them to implement our sustainability programs
  • You will coordinate engagement with brand partners influencing them to adopt best practices in sustainable fashion.
