Description:

As a Manufacturing Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and guiding your team members to achieve operational goals. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of production workers and ensuring that daily operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in adherence to quality and safety standards. Your leadership skills, technical expertise, and problem-solving abilities will contribute to the achievement of production targets, process optimization, and the overall success of our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

• Safety and Risk Awareness:

• Promote and maintain a safe work environment, emphasizing compliance with safety protocols.

• Identify potential risks and implement preventive measures.

• Leadership and Team Coordination:

• Lead, motivate, and guide a team of employees to meet production targets and objectives.

• Foster a positive team culture that promotes collaboration and continuous improvement.

• Work Assignment and Task Delegation:

• Assign daily tasks, file numbers, and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and capabilities.

• Ensure workloads are distributed evenly to optimize productivity.

• Quality Control and Compliance:

• Enforce adherence to strict quality control measures and aerospace industry standards.

• Monitor and ensure compliance with specified processes and procedures.

• Training and Skill Development: (in conjunction with supervisor)

• Identify training needs within the team and provide on-the-job training and coaching.

• Encourage skill development to enhance team members' capabilities.

• Communication and Reporting:

• Facilitate effective communication within the team and relay important information from the Supervisor.

• Provide regular updates on team progress and challenges.

• Problem Solving and Decision Making:

• Address operational challenges promptly and collaboratively with your team.

• Make informed decisions to overcome obstacles and achieve production targets.

• Performance Monitoring and Feedback:

• Monitor individual and team performance against goals and targets.

• Provide constructive feedback to team members and recognize their achievements.

• Resource Utilization: (in conjunction with supervisor)

• Optimize the utilization of available resources, including manpower and equipment.

• Ensure efficient deployment of resources to meet production demands.

• Adherence to Schedules and Deadlines:

• Coordinate with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.

• Assist in adjusting schedules as needed to accommodate changes.

• Collaboration with Other Teams:

• Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure smooth workflow and cross-functional coordination.

• Address any inter-departmental issues that may arise.

• Employee Engagement and Motivation:

• Foster a positive work environment that encourages employee engagement and motivation.

• Recognize and acknowledge team members' efforts and contributions.

• Record Keeping and Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of work completed, production data, and any issues encountered.

• Assist in generating reports as required by the Supervisor.

• Continuous Learning and Improvement:

• Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices.

• Seek opportunities to enhance your leadership skills and knowledge.

• Other tasks as defined by your manager:

• Ability to pivot depending on business needs to assist team outcomes by assisting in daily production.

• Flexibility and versatility to take on different tasks that are not explicitly listed in job description

3. Daily output of team – critical path and piece count

a. Recovery plan when not met

b. Escalation of challenges/constraints

c. Ability to overcome obstacles to achieve outcomes compliantly and with integrity

4. Schedule adherence to completion dates

5. Ensuring completion of Operator level maintenance

6. Proficiency in all GSP SOP’s

7. Accountable with corrective measures in a timely manner. Know when to escalate concerns.

Requirements:

Job Specifications:

• High School Diploma and proven experience (typically 3+ years) in the machining field or equivalent knowledge.

• 2-5 years set up experience preferred.

• Strong commitment to safety and the ability to foster a safety-first culture.

• Strong leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and guide teams to prioritize safety in all aspects of operations.

• An understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling and operations, industry safety standards, and quality control methodologies.

• Working knowledge of risk assessments, hazard identification, and lean and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Attention to detail, problem solving, and analytical skills.

• Proficiency with computer skills, MS Office, Manufacturing software, etc.
