Precise CNC Machining Institute (PCMI) is a 14-week, paid training program facilitated by Precise Tool & Manufacturing Inc. The program is designed to prepare individuals for careers in precision manufacturing by providing Students with full-time, hands-on training focused on developing the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in a modern manufacturing environment. The program curriculum includes shop math, blueprint reading, introductory GD&T, machining on mills and lathes, and manufacturing safety fundamentals.
We are seeking a PCMI Instructor to educate, train, and mentor students throughout the program by delivering classroom instruction, providing hands-on machine training, reinforcing safety compliance standards, and preparing students for successful careers on the manufacturing floor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Prepares daily lesson plans.
- Provides hands on instruction for students operating machines.
- Orders necessary raw materials for students to complete sample projects.
- Manages budget for books, raw materials and any other course related expenses.
- Sets students up with access to ToolingU, online software program.
- Maintains inventory of tooling/tools.
- Grades students’ performance on written tests and ability on machines.
- Communicates with students concerning proper behavior and expectations.
- Ensures students understand and follow all manufacturing safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and safety compliance requirements expected on a production floor.
- Provides ongoing support and mentorship to program graduates as they transition to the shop floor, helping reinforce skills, safety practices, and overall job success following completion of the 14-week program.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Extensive understanding of blueprint reading.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
- Ability to demonstrate proper machining practices.
- Ability to demonstrate proper work setups.
- Demonstrate safe working habits.
- Familiar with algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.
- Knowledge of G and M code programming.
- Knowledge of Mazatrol programming.
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- 20 years machining experience.
- Education experience preferred.
- NYS Journeymen Papers preferred.

According to the New York Pay Transparency law, pay range for this job is $32.00 - $38.00 / hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
