Description of the position
We are looking for a passionate Data Governance Specialist to help shape and scale modern data governance practices. You’ll ensure data is trusted, traceable, and high-quality across systems, driving a strong data culture in a fast-paced, Azure-based environment.
Working Experience & Tech Skills
@3-5 years of experience in data government, management or quality roles.
@Experience with cataloguing/metadata/lineage concepts and the ability to implement governance processes in real environments.
@ Familiarity with Microsoft ecosystem governance tools (Purview as a plus).
@Strong collaboration skills: can work with technical and non-technical stakeholders and drive adoption without formal authority.
Not mandatory but preferred:
# Previous experience in startups or high-growth environments.
# MS Azure certifications in the data domain.
# Exposure to Power BI / analytics enablement contexts.
# Experience working in a global, fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
@Lead data catalog and lineage:
Implement and maintain the data catalog, metadata standards, and lineage practices to ensure trusted, well-documented data flows.
@Drive data quality:
Develop and embed a company-wide Data Quality Framework to deliver accurate, reliable, and analytics-ready data.
@Operationalize governance:
Turn governance principles into daily routines—tracking critical data, coordinating quality checks, and managing issue resolution.
@Strengthen compliance and information protection:
Support enterprise labelling and classification (M365), monitor adherence, and improve governance practices across the business.
@Collaborate and document:
Work with cross-functional teams to define key data terms and ensure governance materials are clear, consistent, and usable.
Languages
@ Spanish: At least B2-C1.
@ English: At least B2-C1.
Job location
Tres Cantos (Madrid). European Union citizen; otherwise, a valid job permit is mandatory.
Salary
A very competitive salary package.
Working from home
3-4 days a week (but according to the specific needs that may arise from the perspective of project development, department, clients, and/or partners).
