What you'll do

• In conjunction with the Sales Managers, Engineering Department and Automation Department, determines which references will be used for equipment and for cost
• Project coordination with team members in the proposal stage
• Proposal writing, editing, and elaboration
• Maintain proposal files including relative calculations, communications, and meeting reports
• Contacts and coordination with main mechanical vendors for proposal purposes
• Inter-departmental or inter-company contacts concerning proposals
• Coordination of engineering work for proposal preparation, metallurgical and process calculations
• Prepare and edit cost estimates for proposed project with estimator
• Makes sales calls and attends sales functions, as required
• Technical presentation of SMS group technology to prospective customers
• Business travel (domestic and international) required
• Engineering studies
• Commissioning of equipment, as required

What you’ll need

• Bachelor of Science – Engineering degree (mechanical, metallurgical and/or material science engineering)
• 5 years experience in design and proposal preparation is preferred
• Steelmaking & continuous casting knowledge is preferred
• Steelmaking and/or continuous casting experience is required
• Candidates must be self-motivated and display creativity, strong problem solving skills, and work well in a diverse team environment
• Candidates should have a strong ability to multitask and work in an interdisciplinary environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent computer skills, with a strong emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint
