Job Description
We are currently looking for an Environmental Services Specialty Lead:
The Environmental Services Specialty Lead is responsible for supporting the team who disinfects
specialty areas such as Infusion Pharmacy, Sterile Processing, Operating Rooms, Procedure Rooms,
Cell Therapy. As part of the Spill Response Team, deactivates and decontaminates chemotherapy and
other hazardous agent spills. Responsible for reducing the spread of bacteria and infection as well as
providing an environment that appears clean, fresh, and polished.
The Lead will ensure all areas of responsibility are completed by opening and closing the shift, tracking
Team Member progress, performing quality inspections, providing supplies and equipment, driving team
members from one location to another, and informing their supervisor on the status of the team's
progress. Assumes responsibility of running shift in absence of Supervisor. This position will ensure
adequate inventory levels, proper storage of supplies, machines and floor cleaning equipment.
This position performs a variety of duties that support the department in maintaining a clean environment
for patients and staff, this includes cleaning/disinfecting other areas as needed.
Minimum Education
Education Level: High School Diploma/GED
Minimum Required: Drivers license, Florida driver's License required upon hire.
Minimum Experience Required: Minimum two (2) years in Healthcare Janitorial / Environmental Services experience including the
following: 6 months applying proficient knowledge of specialty area (for example including terminal
cleans), Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and a minimum of 6
months Supervisory or Lead/Project Lead experience (total experience required 2 years)
-Must Complete Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) certification within18
months of hire (certification will be tracked by the business)
-Must show evidence of a good driving record and maintain a good record per Moffitt Policy.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both oral/written form (for the safety of our patients and staff
in an emergency situation)
Must be able to work independently and unsupervised at times.
Ability to deescalate situations
