Job Summary
- Plans, organizes, and implements specific medically prescribed cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation programs. Coordinates with exercise physiologist to provide optimal exercise and educational programs for participants.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Successful completion from an accredited nursing program leading to a Registered Nurse degree. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in Illinois. ACLS training and certification required. Experience in telemetry/cardiac monitor interpretation preferred. Current CPR certification is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Effective communication skills both written and verbal. Knowledge of dysrhythmias and 12 lead EKG interpretation. Understanding of exercise training with cardiac and pulmonary patients. Understanding of cardiac, pulmonary, and metabolic disease processes. -
ABILITIES, INTERESTS AND TEMPERAMENTS- Displays a positive attitude toward the hospital and profession, accepting those things which cannot be changed, and constructively work to change those things which cannot and should not be changed.
- Ability to function productively and cooperatively as part of a team.
- Commitment to a health lifestyle as a model for participants and staff.
- Must have the ability to work with a variety of patients of all populations (e.g. developmentally appropriate care, cultural diversity, patients with pain, victims of abuse or neglect, and diagnosis or procedure specific such as patient with congestive heart failure or cesarean delivery).
