$26.50–$27.00/HR | MONDAY–FRIDAY | HOME DAILY | WEEKENDS OFF

LOCATION: 3410 Norfolk St., Richmond, VA 23230
POSITION OVERVIEW
As a CDL A Route Driver, you will make local deliveries to K–12 schools throughout the Richmond area. You'll be responsible for safely transporting and unloading food products while providing dependable, professional service to our customers.
This is a touch-freight position, so drivers should be comfortable making deliveries using pallet jacks, lift gates, and 2-wheel dollies.
Most importantly — you'll be home daily!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle.
- Perform local deliveries to K–12 schools throughout Richmond and surrounding areas.
- Load, transport, and unload products safely and efficiently.
- Operate newer Peterbilt and Freightliner trucks equipped with lift gates.
- Use electric and manual pallet jacks to complete deliveries.
- Use a 2-wheel dolly when delivering to locations without loading docks.
- Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate ELD and delivery documentation.
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, and Transportation leadership.
- Immediately report vehicle concerns, accidents, injuries, or delivery issues.
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safety procedures.
- Maintain a safe, professional, and customer-focused approach throughout the workday.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Monday–Friday
- Weekends Off
- Home Daily
- Start times typically between 3:00 a.m.–6:00 a.m.
- Routes continue until deliveries are completed.
- Average 45–55 hours per week
- Occasional overnight layover may be required based on route needs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Valid DOT Medical Certificate
- Motor Vehicle Record covering 10 years of driving history
- Ability to safely operate a manual transmission
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of a touch-freight delivery position
- Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, lift gates, and 2-wheel dollies
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service
- TWIC card is a plus
- Must successfully complete required pre-employment drug screening, background screening, and fingerprinting
