About This Position
SUMMARY
The Carrier Representative is responsible for working with our network of trusted 3rd party carriers to haul our customer's freight. This includes but is not limited to negotiating rates, booking trucks on available loads, tracking load progress and communicating load updates with our sales and customer service teams. The ideal candidate would be self-motivated to exceed daily and monthly goals, possess strong negotiation skills, and possess strong phone, email and verbal communication skills as well as proficient in Microsoft Office/Outlook and Google Chrome.
*Please note: This position is an onsite role located in Waterloo, IA 50701, and does not offer remote/hybrid options.*
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Negotiate rates with carriers, entering and recording all terms and conditions of shipment agreements
· Attract and retain qualified carriers
· Match shipments to carrier's specific needs and profile
· Respond to carrier request for service and resolve load issues
· Communicates with the sales and customer services teams on load status and problems that may arise
· Manages a book of business in accordance with monthly goals
· Performs other duties, tasks, or responsibilities as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
· Strong problem solving and negotiating skills
· Customer service orientated
· Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
· Proficient computer, phone, and internet skills
· Must be able to demonstrate a proactive commitment to Warren corporate values and the success of all staff.
COMPENSATION
Compensation for the position consists of a base salary plus performance incentives.

· Constantly in a stationary sitting position and occasionally will move around.
· Constantly operate a keyboard and mouse and constantly utilize a computer monitor(s).
· Constantly conversing with internal and external customers in person or via a phone system.
The essential functions of the role depend on in-person oversight, coaching, and real-time collaboration with management and operations staff. Remote work would remove the employee from direct supervision and eliminate the immediate coaching, escalation support, and call monitoring that the position requires. Because these functions are essential to the role, and remote work would not allow the employee to perform them effectively, working from home is not a reasonable or effective accommodation.
