We are seeking an Azure DevOps Engineer to be the foundational infrastructure hire our AI-powered product platform. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role: you will be the first and primary DevOps engineer on the team, building the cloud infrastructure, CI/CD systems, and operational practices that everything else runs on.

This role will focus on designing and operating a reliable, scalable Azure infrastructure that supports our AI and SaaS product development, while establishing the engineering standards and deployment practices that will scale with the team. You will work closely with engineering and product leadership to make thoughtful build-vs-buy decisions, own reliability and cost efficiency in production, and ensure our AI workloads on Azure are monitored, observable, and safe to ship.

  • Ensure reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency of AI-powered systems in production
  • Monitor and troubleshoot AI system behavior including latency, failures, and degraded outputs

CI/CD and Release Management

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Define and enforce release processes including versioning, build reproducibility, and deployment workflows
  • Design deployment strategies including blue-green, canary, and phased rollouts
  • Ensure safe rollback and recovery mechanisms for failed releases

Observability and Incident Response

  • Implement observability across systems including logging, metrics, and error tracking using tools such as Sentry, Azure Monitor, and Prometheus
  • Set up alerting and incident response workflows using PagerDuty or equivalent
  • Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident resolution

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in DevOps or infrastructure engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Deep experience with CI/CD systems, GitHub Actions preferred
  • Proven experience operating production systems with real users and uptime requirements
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, or similar
  • Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, and alerting
  • Experience handling production incidents and on-call rotations
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash

Nice to Have

  • Experience deploying or supporting AI/ML workloads in production environments
  • Experience with Azure AI Foundry or Azure AI services including Azure OpenAI
  • Experience managing LLM-based systems in production with a focus on latency, cost, and reliability
