Job Summary:

The Float Pool Coordinator, reporting to the Senior Administrator, is responsible for every aspect of managing the float staff to meet the interim needs of all departments. This position coordinates the deployment of all clinical and registration float staff (Medical Assistants and First Impression Specialist) to ensure the filling of positions temporarily unoccupied and is responsible for creating tactical and strategic plans to address all interim staffing needs. Using their clinical knowledge and experience, the Float Pool Coordinator ensures that clinical float staff are fully qualified, trained and meet the highest Graves Gilbert standards of performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hires, trains, evaluates and manages all clinical float staff.
  • Collaborates and maintains relationship with the clinical supervisors/departments to ensure appropriate training and development for float pool staff.
  • Ensures employees complete appropriate training based on job class.
  • Coordinates the filling of positions temporarily unoccupied. (i. e. Unoccupied by staff who are ill, on LOA, PTO, call outs or training leaves).
  • Collaborate with Administration to prepare staffing strategy for existing and future needs.
  • Ensures compliance with organization staffing policies as well as all policies and procedures.
  • Will travel to GGC facilities 25-50% of time to monitor and determine performance and staffing needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures for Medical Assistants and First Impression Specialist job duties
  • Knowledge and proper use of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe working environment
  • Excellent communicator in all formats
  • Knowledge of management techniques, principles and practices
  • Knowledge of computer programs and applications.
  • Knowledge and proficient use of the Electronic Medical Records
  • Skill in exercising a high degree or initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve organization objectives.
  • Skill in analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action.
  • Ability to act independently and be self-motivated.
  • Effective interpersonal and communications skills required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA laws.
  • Strong Computer skills a must.

    Education:

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Must be Registered, Certified Medical Assistant, LPN or RN
