Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join our team in the Nashville and Chattanooga territory. As a vital member of our team, you will be an important asset in the growth, management, profitability, and overall success of the production and distribution departments. Drawing on your exceptional knowledge-rooted in the areas of production management and distribution operations, coupled with our high level of support, not only empowers you to make the daily business decisions necessary for maximum profitability of the business, it provides the platform for you to show your greatness along the way!

Success in this role starts with approaching every day with a high-performance-motivated mindset. Proven experience in CRM, rapid rapport building with new and existing customers, experience in territorial expansions and aggressive self-lead generation are the building blocks supporting the hard driving performance foundation. Travel will be required at least 75% of the time. Occasional overnight stay, depending on the business growth opportunities.

Role Expectation and KPIs:

Safety:

• Operate vehicles safely.

• Follow all product and coil lifting and handling procedures when in the warehouse or delivering to a customer.

• Follow all safety policies and procedures while on site or in a warehouse.

• See something, say something.

Quality Assurance:

• Provide and report customer feedback and documentation for any product or coil quality issues to Quality Control.

• Provide and report customer feedback for any quality issues due to handling or transportation damage.

• Provide and report customer feedback for any order errors from delivery or customer pick up.

• Assist with deliveries to customers if needed due to order errors, product damage, or product quality.

• Communicate with customers in regard to any order errors, product damage, or product quality issues if needed.

• Understand and manage warranty process with issues reported by customers.

Inventory:

Assist cost centers with acquiring products from other locations as needed.

• Communicate with GM's and BM's in regard to large or bulk orders in advance in order to plan production and stocking levels (forecasting onboarding).

• Assist with the sale of dead inventory and excess inventory.

• Give proper lead times for special orders.

• Report samples removed from the warehouse so inventory can be adjusted.

Customer Service and Sales:

• Identify business opportunities and close business with customers. Maintain relationships and communication with existing customers.

• Communicate customer concerns to leadership to be addressed.

• Review and call customers from Sales Analysis report/use of sales reports.

• Review and call customers from retention reports

• Assist with deliveries to customers if needed due to order errors, product damage, product shortages, or product quality.

Meeting Location Specific Goals:

• Develop sales strategies to achieve and exceed goals.

• Source leads and work leads to increase actives.

• Ability to use all resources to maintain and grow customer base - Sales Analysis, retention reports, sales history, Mapline, Buzzfile.

• Assist in developing new business opportunities in the building industry.

• Communicate and promote all promotions while maintaining sales across all product lines.

Personnel Management:

• Work as a team with branch employees and all leadership.

• Have a positive attitude.

• Communicate with branch employees and leadership in a respectful and professional manner.

• Ensure completion of work even if it means extended hours commitment.

• Must have the ability to work independently.

Financials:

• Develop sales strategies to achieve and exceed goals.

• Report product handling damage and quality issues so issues can be addressed to reduce scrap and shrinkage.

• Use competitive pricing to obtain strong margins and exceed margin goals.

• Continue to apply the 1.5% supply chain surcharge to increase freight sales and increase net income.

• Be aware of expenditures to keep expenses down.
