Key Results:
Coordinates patient care surgical services with patients, team leaders, staff, physicians and other departments in order to provide safe, high quality, efficient day to day operations in the Surgical Services Areas.
Assigns daily department staffing in conjunction with team leaders and in accordance with service needs and operational guidelines.
Monitors overall departmental staffing to meet objectives in relation to productivity, efficiency targets, and budgetary expectations. Makes necessary adjustments to meet goals.
Leads daily Surgical Services Huddle in order to identify and remediate future patient and staffing issues.
Prepares and complete staff scheduling in API for Surgical Services Areas.
Assists the Director of Surgical Services with the employee selection process, training and staff development, performance competencies, merit evaluations.
Maintains continuing quality assessment and improvement of patient care delivery and patient safety activities. Collaborates in developing, implementing reviewing, revising, and monitoring performance improvement activities. Responds to and communicates Quality Measures to staff.
Practices cost controls to insure maximum effectiveness of funds expended from the approved budget. Initiates corrective action for variance. Participates in inventory control systems. Assist Business Manager with maintenance of Preference Cards.
Ensures professional relationships are maintained at all times with all customers served; patients/families/healthcare professionals/other interested groups in the community.
Assists the Director of Surgical Services with policy development, review, revision, and implementation.
Participates with other Healthcare Team to coordinate compliance with JCAHO standards.
Demonstrates responsibility for assigned communications.
