Medical Waste Class A Driver Lead - 6049
$27 - $30 an hour
Daniels Health is offering a $1,000 new hire bonus for joining our amazing team in Hayward!
We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer focused driver with a Class A license and experience driving large trucks to utilize your experience across the Hayward, CA area. You will be collecting sharps and medical waste containers from our healthcare customer locations and delivering a high level of customer service daily. This role offers a high degree of autonomy, stable hours, access to some OT and good benefits. Our vehicle fleet is modern and well-maintained. What will your job involve?- Collect, deliver, and store medical waste containers at customer sites
- Provide professional, courteous service and build positive customer relationships
- Operate straight trucks and tractor trailers safely in all conditions
- Complete routes on time and communicate delays or issues as they arise
- Load and unload containers; organize your truck and day to meet your schedule
- Perform pretrip and posttrip inspections and report issues immediately
- Follow DOT regulations, log hours correctly, and support roadside inspections
- Work with dispatch and teammates to resolve route or customer problems
- Own up to mistakes, report incidents accurately, and follow through on fixes
- Class A license with a clean driving record and valid medical card
- At least 6 months experience with straight trucks and/or tractor trailers
- Willingness to work full time hours, approx. 40 hours a week
- Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
- Six months of driving experience with tractor trailers and/or straight trucks
- Passing our 7 Year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
- A flexible, can-do attitude with a strong customer focus
- Experience operating vehicles in a safe manner (straight trucks and tractor trailers as large as 26 and 53 feet long)
- Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections
- Confident in a road check level 1 through level 3
- Proven longevity in past employment

- Consistent work hours – Mon-Fri 1st shift (Start at 2AM-12:00PM) (9-10 hour days)

- Permanent position – This is a full-time direct hire role of 40+ hours per week
