About This Position
Chief Revenue Cycle Officer (CRCO)
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Chief Revenue Cycle Officer to lead the strategic and operational performance of our end-to-end revenue cycle. This executive role is accountable for driving compliant reimbursement, optimizing cash flow, preventing revenue leakage, and improving the patient financial experience across the organization. The CRCO partners closely with Finance, Clinical Operations, Compliance, IT, and Payer Strategy leaders to support sustainable growth.
What You’ll Do
- Own enterprise revenue cycle performance, including net revenue realization, days in A/R, denial rates, and cash collections
- Lead all revenue cycle functions: eligibility and authorization, coding and charge capture, billing and collections, denials management, payer performance, credentialing, Workers’ Compensation, direct pay contracts, and AI strategy
- Develop and execute a compliant, data-driven revenue cycle strategy aligned to financial and growth objectives
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reimbursement while mitigating revenue leakage and operational inefficiencies
- Partner with Compliance and Legal to manage audit risk and regulatory requirements (CMS, HIPAA, payer contracts, AAAHC)
- Optimize revenue cycle technology, analytics, automation, and AI in collaboration with IT
- Oversee payer relationships, third-party vendors, and outsourced revenue cycle services
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing revenue cycle organization; present insights to executive leadership and the Board
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare revenue cycle or finance
- Proven success leading large, complex revenue cycle organizations
- Deep knowledge of reimbursement methodologies, payer rules, and regulatory requirements
- Strong financial, analytical, and executive communication skills
Preferred
- Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent)
- HFMA, CHFP, or equivalent certification
- Experience in multisite or system-level healthcare organizations
- Demonstrated success leading revenue cycle transformation initiatives
