About This Position
Position Description:
Simply Results LLC is looking for dynamic individuals who enjoy a fast-paced environment and who can be flexible in relation to route scheduling. You must be able to execute all lab orders that are assigned to your daily route as well as be organized with attention to detail finalizing all appropriate paperwork and tube collection. We have a full-time position in Grand Rapids, Lansing, Kalamazoo, Flint and Detroit, MI. We offer a great benefit package upon eligibility.
Phlebotomist Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the proper SOP for the collection of specimens to be processed.
- Provide 2 patient identifiers before specimen collection.
- Proper labeling of specimens, completion of requisitions and all other needed information for accurate specimen processing.
- Prepare specimens and requisition forms, including packaging of the specimens into biohazard bags.
- Responsible for data entry and processing specimens accurately.
- Obtain billing information, including copies of patient insurance cards and demographic information.
- Ensuring the accurate completion of requisition forms and assisting with all missing information requests when needed.
- Confirming reports that are generated by the laboratory to the nursing staff ensuring all listed patients specimens are accounted for and processed.
- Thorough knowledge of all processes and will act as liaison between facility and laboratory.
- Travel to a client site to draw or pick-up a patient specimen collection.
- Provide excellent phlebotomy service skills, bedside manor and customer service with respect and dignity for all patients.
- Must communicate effectivly with coworkers and management.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification preferred.
Work Experience:
- One year phlebotomy or MA experience is preferred.
