About This Position
SUMMARY: Implements, supports, and maintains AHS systems designed to assist HIM and clinical staff in the delivery of quality healthcare. Assists the customer to fully maximize systems capabilities to meet the institutional goals of quality patient care, cost containment and operational efficiency. Responsible for assigned systems and functions.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification, however, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.
1. Documents business processes and workflows and communicates them with project teams and stakeholders.
2. Identify information management requirements and operating problems; assist in development of strategies for use of technology and improvement of AHS workflow processes for area of responsibility.
3. Provides insight and recommendation on application/systems in assigned areas and support on projects to customers and other stakeholders.
4. Provides recommendations for user adoption and transition strategies; delivers on identified change management strategies with direction.
5. Serves as a liaison between HIM, Patient Care and Clinical Technologies to assist in the support of care of patients.
6. Provide on-going support for process improvement and patient safety initiatives, in assigned area of responsibility; develop, manage, and maintain system, user, and training documentation; .
7. Perform troubleshooting activities pertaining to assigned systems, coordinating with customers, other Information System Teams, and vendor representatives as necessary; manage the development of and perform application testing addressing maintenance releases, integrated testing, and fixes.
8. Plan and coordinate maintenance of assigned systems.
9. Recommend and develop solutions to system requirements..
10. Performs other duties as required.
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in HIM or related field.
Required Education: Associate’s degree in HIM or related field.
Required Experience: Minimum two years experience in Health Information Management working with clinical electronic health records.
