Lehigh Valley Imaging is currently hiring for a full-time, 2nd shift MRI Technologist at our Allentown, PA location! This position is eligible for a shift differential and offers schedule flexibility. No call!
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MRI Technologist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and committed to delivering high-quality imaging services in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scans and handles patients with a high degree of professionalism, care, tact, courtesy, patience and safety.
- Produces images of good diagnostic quality. Prepares images for interpretation by the radiologist.
- Secures supplies and is knowledgeable of sterile technique.
- Ensures patients can receive contrast and obtains lab results prior to administration of contrast when necessary.
- Reviews protocols and confers with supervisor or radiologist for any concerns.
- Performs venipuncture, starts IVs, checks all connections, verified proper setting of power injector if used and injects contrast material under physician supervision.
- Performs and monitors safety checks on patients, employees and visitors in accordance with ACR safety standards concerning ferrous objects, implant and mechanical devices.
- Knowledge of basic nursing practices related to MRI, including emergency evacuation procedures, sterile practices, universal precautions, CPR, Code Blue and RRT response.
- Effectively communicates with nursing/physician of change in status while patient is in MRI.
- Assumes responsibility for proper operation of equipment used.

- Ability to deal effectively and ethically with confidential medical information related to patients, families and physicians.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Project and model professionalism, dependability and a positive attitude at all times.
- Ability to work independently and through collaboration with others.
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Graduate from approved School of Radiology or MRI Technology.
- ARRT or ARMRIT required.
- Must be MRI certified within two years of hire.
