Position Summary
This position will be an on-site position for Lenoir, North Carolina. The Safety Technician is responsible for ensuring a safe work environment for all employees by implementing and monitoring electrical safety policies and procedures. This role conducts safety training, audits, risk assessments, and investigations to reduce hazards and maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and other regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement electrical safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and other industry standards.
  • Create, maintain, and distribute safety manuals, guidelines, and documentation.
  • Conduct safety training for employees on tools, PPE, hazard recognition, lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety codes, and emergency response.
  • Perform regular safety inspections and audits at job sites to ensure compliance.
  • Identify hazards, coordinate mitigation efforts, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Investigate electrical incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and implement preventative measures.
  • Prepare detailed reports and maintain incident records.
  • Ensure the organization meets all regulatory requirements and maintains necessary certifications.
  • Stay updated on changes to safety laws, standards, and best practices affecting the electrical industry.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to reduce exposure to electrical hazards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to design and implement safety measures.
  • Act as a liaison between management, employees, and regulatory agencies regarding safety concerns.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through engagement, communication, and example-setting.
  • Represent 5 Points Electrical professionally in all interactions.
  • Ensure efficient team performance and implement suggestions to improve safety and productivity.
  • Complete and submit required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Uphold and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support safety and operational goals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or safety certifications preferred (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E, Safety Management).
  • Previous experience in electrical safety, construction safety, or industrial safety.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, and electrical safety practices.
  • Possesses current certifications in First Aid, CPR and AED; and
  • Possesses a recent OSHA 30-hour Construction card; and
  • Has an academic degree in safety
  • Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective measures.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to maintain accurate records.
  • Punctual, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Bilingual Spanish

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • This position requires regular visits to active construction sites in various weather conditions.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, and light lifting may be required.
  • Interaction with employees, clients, and regulatory agencies in person and via phone/email.
