Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to lead and oversee site safety for commercial construction. This role is responsible for promoting and maintaining a strong culture of safety while ensuring full compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive field experience in commercial construction, a deep understanding of OSHA standards and regulatory requirements, and a demonstrated ability to implement proactive safety programs that protect employees, subcontractors, and project partners. This individual will work closely with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to identify potential risks, conduct safety training, perform site inspections, and drive continuous improvements in workplace safety across all project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support the company’s site safety program to maintain a safe and healthy work environment across project sites
  • Conduct regular jobsite walk-through inspections to identify and address potential safety concerns
  • Identify, document, and recommend solutions for hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions, and follow through to ensure corrective actions are completed
  • Assist with the investigation of workplace incidents, including personal injury and property damage, and help implement preventative measures
  • Compile relevant documentation, photographs, and reports in accordance with company procedures and state, federal, and local safety regulations
  • Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring (e.g., oxygen levels, gas detection, noise monitoring, etc.) to help ensure safe working conditions
  • Support project teams with safety training, communication, and compliance efforts as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of project and company safety initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field, or equivalent combinations of technical training and relevant safety experience
  • 2–4 years of experience in construction, industrial, or related safety roles
  • Ability to identify hazardous conditions and recommend practical safety solutions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with field teams and project leaders
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with crews and supervisors, encouraging accountability and engagement in maintaining a safe jobsite
  • Demonstrated ability to promote a proactive safety culture, helping teams recognize and address risks before incidents occur
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills for maintaining safety reports, inspection logs, and incident documentation
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating with project teams and leadership
