What You'll Be Doing...

Under the direction of the Inn Manager and Housekeeping Supervisor, the Housekeeping Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining the exceptional cleanliness, presentation, and comfort of guest rooms and public spaces throughout The Selvedge, A SingleThread Inn. This role ensures every guest space reflects the property's high standards of luxury, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality.

The Housekeeping Room Attendant plays an important role in creating memorable guest experiences by preparing guest accommodations with care, maintaining a welcoming environment, and responding to guest needs with professionalism, warmth, and discretion.

Guest Room Preparation

  • Clean, sanitize, inspect, and prepare guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas to The Selvedge's luxury standards.
  • Change linens, make beds, replenish amenities, organize guest collateral, and ensure all furnishings are clean, properly arranged, and guest-ready.
  • Dust, vacuum, mop, polish, and maintain all assigned guest rooms and public spaces.
  • Identify and report maintenance concerns, damaged furnishings, or safety hazards promptly.

Laundry & Linen Care

  • Wash, dry, fold, iron, and organize linens, towels, robes, and other guest textiles according to established standards.
  • Maintain linen inventory and assist with stocking housekeeping supplies.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of all housekeeping materials and equipment.

Public Areas & Public Appearance

  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of common areas, entryways, offices, restrooms, stairways, and other guest-facing spaces.
  • Assist with seasonal deep cleaning and special housekeeping projects as assigned.
  • Help maintain a welcoming, comfortable, and impeccably presented property at all times.

Guest Service & Hospitality

  • Deliver warm, courteous, and personalized service during all guest interactions.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests or communicate them to the appropriate department.
  • Handle lost and found items according to company procedures.
  • Protect the privacy, security, and confidentiality of all guests and guest rooms.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all housekeeping procedures, sanitation standards, and company safety policies.
  • Properly use and store cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.

Teamwork & Professionalism

  • Work collaboratively with housekeeping, front office, maintenance, and other departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Complete assigned duties efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to support changing operational needs.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • One (1) year of housekeeping, hotel, hospitality, or professional cleaning experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and organization.
  • Passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to maintain guest confidentiality.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and guest-focused in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require.

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position safely and consistently in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, stoop, reach, climb stairs, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to safely operate housekeeping equipment and cleaning tools.
  • Ability to work with cleaning products and chemicals in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Ability to maneuver throughout guest rooms, stairways, outdoor spaces, and other areas of the property.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail while performing repetitive cleaning tasks in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
