Position Title: Senior Sales Executive
Reports To: Vice President of Sales

Shift: Varies
Role: The Senior Sales Executive is the primary on property sales person for large complex group business of 100-500 on peak. This position is responsible for proactively soliciting and handling large group related opportunities, with significant revenue potential. Deployment will be in Midwest market with focus on Corporate and Association accounts. The Senior Sales Executive works to develop, build and maintain long-term relationships in order to achieve personal and team related revenue goals. Must be able to prospect and develop new sales opportunities. Adheres to all Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures. Fosters teamwork and provides excellent guest service, anticipates guest needs to exceed guest expectations. Builds brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive sales experience in hospitality or related industries preferred.
- Skills:
- Demonstrates exceptional telephone and consultative selling skills with a deep understanding of complex sales processes and strategies.
- Strong knowledge of hotel operations and Marriott Lodging products, cultures, and brand strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Proven experience collaborating with professional associations, trade groups, and industry councils to build networks, drive business development, and represent the brand at conferences and events.
- Comprehensive understanding of food trends, menu planning, and F&B operations to support client needs and enhance revenue opportunities.
- Skilled in negotiating and managing contractual agreements with awareness of legal implications and compliance standards.
- Exceptional ability to cultivate long-term client relationships, influence decision-makers, and leverage association partnerships for growth.
- Effective in making strategic decisions under pressure and resolving complex challenges with innovative solutions.
- Advanced negotiation capabilities to secure high-value deals and partnerships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, adept at delivering impactful presentations to executives and association boards.
- Expertise in CRM tools and hotel systems, including SFA and CI/TY, with proficiency in standard software applications for data-driven sales management.
Required Work Cards needed:
- Valid Nevada Driver’s License

- Identify, solicit, and manage large group opportunities, ensuring alignment with revenue goals and client expectations.
- Maximize Revenue Through Strategic Upselling
- Leverage every business opportunity to optimize revenue potential while achieving individual and team sales targets.
- Respond to High-Value Sales Leads
- Manage incoming group sales inquiries promptly and effectively, converting leads into confirmed bookings.
- Build and Strengthen Client Relationships
- Cultivate long-term partnerships with existing and new customers through proactive engagement, including sales calls, client entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, and association events.
- Engage with Industry Associations
- Represent the organization at association meetings, conferences, and networking forums to expand business opportunities and strengthen brand presence.
- Manage Stakeholder Relationships
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives and client satisfaction.
- Conduct Site Inspections & Contract Negotiations
- Deliver professional property tours and negotiate contractual agreements with attention to legal and compliance standards.
- Administrative & Operational Excellence
- Prepare accurate contracts, maintain CRM records, and utilize hotel systems (SFA, CI/TY) to support efficient sales operations.
- Other Duties
- Interact with management, applicants, associates, and guests; operate standard office equipment; and perform additional tasks as needed to meet business objectives.
