Job Description
Position: Purchasing Assistant
Location: Edmonton
Kristian Electric Ltd. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Assistant – Overhead Cranes to join our Edmonton branch. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our Overhead Crane and Hoist Sales team by coordinating purchasing activities, managing inventory, processing documentation, and ensuring the timely procurement and delivery of parts and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the Purchaser in Edmonton and local team members to ensure parts and equipment are properly ordered and received in a timely manner.
- Create work orders
- Prepare completed P.O.’s /credit card purchase receipts to Office Administrator to be included with interoffice stock transfers to Calgary Office.
- Purchase product required
- Liaise with the Warehouse of all incoming and outgoing shipments
- Stock required items
- Receive orders in the inventory management system in a timely manner.
- Progress Billing for large crane, hoist, welder and Induction sales
- Make logbooks as required for Crane/Hoist installations
- Review job costs
- Other duties may be assigned.

- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have steel-toed boots
Required Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Part Sourcing experience is an asset
- Knowledge of overhead cranes and hoists an asset
- 2 years of customer service and/or administrative experience
- Must be safety oriented
- Experience with Foundation 3000 is an asset
- Computer savvy with in-depth experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and Email)
Working Conditions:
- Shop and office environment
- May require steel toed footwear
- Eye protection is provided
