Instructional Designer/Technical Curriculum Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Instructional Designer/Technical Curriculum Developer based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to shape impactful technical learning experiences for global audiences in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will design and develop high-quality digital learning solutions focused on IT and cloud technologies, with a strong emphasis on AWS-related domains. Working closely with subject matter experts and technical teams, you will translate complex concepts into clear, engaging, and learner-centric content. The role is highly hands-on, combining instructional design expertise with modern eLearning tools and AI-enabled development practices. You will contribute to building scalable learning pathways that improve technical capability and performance across distributed teams. Accountabilities:

Design and deliver engaging technical learning experiences, including eLearning modules, curriculum pathways, and self-directed training programs tailored to IT and cloud domains. Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to translate complex technical content into structured, learner-friendly materials while ensuring instructional integrity and alignment with business objectives.

  • Develop and maintain technical curriculum and digital learning assets focused on IT, AWS, and cloud technologies
  • Collaborate with SMEs and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective learning solutions
  • Create interactive eLearning content using tools such as Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise
  • Ensure instructional quality, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with adult learning principles
  • Incorporate multimedia, visuals, and interactive elements to enhance engagement and retention
  • Review, update, and improve existing learning materials based on feedback and evolving requirements
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to support content creation, optimization, and learning experience enhancement
  • Manage multiple instructional design projects while meeting deadlines and quality standards
  • Work effectively with distributed, remote teams across multiple time zones
Requirements:

Strong instructional design expertise combined with the ability to simplify technical concepts for diverse audiences. Experience in developing digital learning content for technical domains, ideally within IT or cloud environments, is essential. You bring strong communication skills, proficiency with eLearning tools, and the ability to work independently in distributed teams.

  • 3+ years of experience in instructional design, technical training, or eLearning development
  • Experience designing self-directed digital learning programs for technical audiences
  • Familiarity with IT concepts and AWS cloud technologies (certifications or hands-on experience is an advantage)
  • Proficiency in Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, or similar authoring tools
  • Strong written communication, editing, and content development skills
  • Experience working with remote and globally distributed teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Technology, or related field
  • Experience using AI tools in content development workflows is an asset
  • Familiarity with graphic design or visual content tools is a plus
  • Instructional design certifications are considered an advantage
