POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for stewarding and elevating Concepts NREC’s Quality Management System (QMS). This position oversees all aspects of QMS maintenance and compliance as they pertain to AS9100, ISO 9001, and OEM approvals. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for certifications, compliance, corrective actions, calibration, document control, and quality-related training. The position is ideally suited for a candidate who is a seasoned quality professional, displays deep aerospace, defense, and regulatory knowledge, and has the organizational leadership skills to drive compliance across all business units.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all QMS certifications including AS9100, ISO 9001, and OEM approvals. Schedule and host onsite audits with OEM customers and third-party registrars.
  • Manage and maintain internal audit programs. Drive change and improvement from audit findings.
  • Manage the corrective action (CAR) system to ensure action plans are appropriate, complete, and closed in a timely manner.
  • Manage the non-conformance (NCM) system to drive disposition, verification and identify corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage and monitor QMS performance metrics to identify trends and develop effective mitigation plans.
  • Manage a team of experienced Quality Technicians and Quality Engineers in support of inspection activities, including but not limited to CMM, hard-gauging, visual, receiving and documentation.
  • Manage and ensure the calibration system is current and documented, including oversight of suppliers that support calibrations.
  • Manage QMS document control and implement a QMS document auditing program to ensure the most current revision levels are in use and that work instructions, processes, and procedures meet the latest applicable requirements.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and performance planning for direct reports.
  • Serve as a trusted quality liaison for operations leadership and customers by communicating quality issues, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain, administer, and support quality-related training across the organization.
  • Support new business onboarding through new contract review and assist in managing continuous improvement and productivity initiatives for QMS processes.
Requirements:

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • A degree in Quality Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Preference given to candidates with a minimum of 5 years of AS9100 or similar quality system experience in an aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Preference given to candidates with demonstrated leadership of a team.
  • AS9100 Lead Auditor certification preferred. Experience managing third-party registrar and OEM customer audits is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of FAR/DFAR requirements and experience navigating quality requirements of government contracts in collaboration with DCMA strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products required.
  • Experience with or desire to leverage AI in support organizational quality objectives strongly preferred.

ABILITIES

  • Exceptional communicator in both written and verbal interactions.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence with the ability to develop trust with customers, leaders, and team members.
  • Proficient in problem-solving methodologies including 5 Why’s, Fishbone (Ishikawa), and 8D, or the desire to learn this methodology preferred.
  • Must satisfy U.S. export control regulations with authorization to work in the U.S. This position requires access to export-controlled information.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required.

The compensation range posted represents the full salary range for the role. Actual pay will be determined based on a candidate’s experience, skills, and the position level ultimately offered.
