Job Description
Job Summary
The Product Owner is responsible for owning and managing the product backlog for TraXtion’s integrated hardware and cloud platform. This role translates business needs, customer use cases, and technical requirements into clear, actionable user stories that drive development.
Working at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and cloud software, the Product Owner ensures alignment between stakeholders and engineering teams, balancing business priorities with system constraints to deliver high-quality, scalable product solutions.
Responsibilities and Duties
Product Strategy & Roadmap
• Contribute to product vision and roadmap planning in partnership with leadership
• Identify opportunities for new features, integrations, and product improvements
• Leverage product usage data, telemetry, and customer feedback to inform decisions
Product Ownership & Delivery
• Own and manage the product backlog across hardware, firmware and cloud software platforms
• Define clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria to guide development teams
• Prioritize features based on business value, customer impact, and technical feasibility
• Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of product increments aligned with roadmap goals
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
• Gather, analyze, and refine requirements from customers, internal teams, and leadership
• Translate real-world hardware and field use cases into scalable product features
• Balance competing priorities across device constraints and cloud platform capabilities
• Communicate product decisions, trade-offs, and roadmap updates clearly to stakeholders
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner closely with hardware engineers, firmware developers, and cloud/software teams to deliver cohesive solutions
• Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and development teams, ensuring alignment and clarity
• Support QA teams in defining test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and validation processes
Hardware and Cloud Platform Focus
• Understand and manage the interaction between hardware devices, firmware, and cloud services
• Account for system constraints including connectivity, latency, power usage, and device lifecycle
• Support over-the-air (OTA) update strategies and device management capabilities
• Ensure alignment between edge (device-level) functionality and cloud platform performance
What You Bring
Required:
• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in an Agile environment
• Background in automotive technology, SaaS, or industrial systems
• Experience working with integrated hardware and software products (IoT, embedded systems, or connected devices)
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and backlog management
• Proven ability to write clear user stories and acceptance criteria
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams, including hardware, firmware, and software
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering Management, Product Management or related field
• Agile/Scrum certified such as CSPO, PSPO, SAFe, PMI-ACP or similar
• Experience with IoT platforms, device management systems, or connected products
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar
• Experience leveraging telemetry, analytics, or data to guide product decisions
