Job Description

Description:

Who We Are

The Miller Hull Partnership designs projects of consequence that celebrate the power of people and their natural surroundings. Our legacy of environmentally responsible buildings is inspired by the efficiency and elegance of passive systems and regional materials. We leverage the openness and flexibility of modernist form to celebrate connections inside and out.

With two studios bookending the West Coast in Seattle and San Diego, our work spans a wide range of project types including houses and cabins, mixed-use multifamily developments, corporate office buildings and towers, laboratories, K-12 schools, higher education buildings, city halls, community centers, libraries, fire stations, airports, international border crossings, and embassies.

Who We Seek

We are looking for highly self-motivated professionals who have…

  • A professional degree in architecture from an accredited program.
  • 10-20 years of post-graduate architectural experience.
  • Ideally obtained licensure in one or more jurisdictions.
  • Project Manager for medium to large multidisciplinary teams on successful projects of significant complexity, including experience managing scope, schedules, staffing, contracts, and quality management.
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more of our practice areas.
  • Experience in Sustainable Operations and Infrastructure projects, and specific work experience with Federal and State clients is desired.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • A commitment and interest in pushing new design frontiers at the intersection of social equity and environmental sustainability.

What You’ll Do

As a team member with us your responsibilities will include…

  • Working collaboratively with the design lead and project executive to direct the work of the entire project team in iteratively studying and developing design concepts.
  • Providing oversight of a project’s specifications and construction document development while engaging directly in more complex design, technical, code and entitlement issues.
  • Structuring project schedules, overall workplans, and daily workflow.
  • Negotiating and managing owner and subconsultant contracts and project financials.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for clients while representing the practice with integrity, creativity, and professionalism.
  • Using your network of personal relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and other professionals to benefit the practice and pursue new projects.
  • Presenting at external conferences to promote awareness of the practice’s work and expertise.

We intentionally foster a rich, engaging studio environment where team members enjoy…

  • A minimum of 132 hours of paid time off annually, which increases commensurately with experience level and tenure.
  • 80 paid holiday hours per year.
  • Flexibility around working hours and remote work options contingent on maintaining a high level of performance and meeting all project needs.
  • Fully paid top quality medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with matching and annual profit-sharing contributions.
  • Transit pass.
  • Flexible spending accounts for healthcare, dependent care, and parking expenses.
