POSITION TITLE: Development Associate

DEPARTMENT: Development and Communications

LOCATION: 175 Delancey Street, New York, NY 10002

REPORTS TO: Deputy Director of Events and Campaigns

SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday, schedule may vary based on department needs, including occasional evenings and weekends.

JOB SUMMARY Since 1916, Grand St. Settlement has worked to build stronger communities by responding to the evolving needs of families across the Lower East Side, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.

We are seeking a collaborative and detail-driven Events & Campaigns Associate to support the fundraising efforts that make this work possible. Working closely with the Deputy Director of Events and Campaigns, this role contributes to the successful execution of donor-focused events — including Taste of the Lower East Side, the Annual Golf Classic, and Let’s Pretend — and supports individual giving campaigns that drive revenue and deepen donor relationships. The Associate manages revenue-related logistics, ensures data integrity within Salesforce, and contributes to the overall operations of the Development and Communications team. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and passionate about our mission.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Deputy Director of Events & Campaigns in planning and executing Taste of the Lower East Side, the Annual Golf Classic, Let’s Pretend, staff and donor recognition events, and other cultivation and ad-hoc fundraising events throughout the year:

• Maintain and update detailed event timelines, tracking spreadsheets, and planning documents

• Provide on-site event support, including load-in and load-out management, vendor coordination, and troubleshooting

• Track RSVPs, guest lists, and sponsorship benefits, and manage ticketing logistics

• Lead invoice tracking, auction and raffle item solicitation and intake, and vendor documentation

• Maintain organized digital files, templates, and process documentation for events

• Collaborate with the Communications team on event materials and outreach

• Support the research, identification, cultivation, and solicitation of committee members, restaurants and honorees

• Secure raffle and auction items through vendor outreach, community partnerships, and in-kind donation requests Salesforce & Development Operations

• Conduct strategic prospect and donor research using various research tools and resources

• Record and manage all event and campaign activity in Salesforce and event platforms

• Support the cultivation and stewardship of individual donors, including drafting acknowledgment letters, impact updates, and other donor communications

• Assist with event revenue reconciliation and post-event reporting

• Generate reports and pull lists to inform outreach and follow-up Administrative Support

• Provide administrative support to the Development and Communications team

• Process invoices and assist with expense tracking

• Coordinate meetings and support general departmental needs

• Assist with cross-team projects, tracking timelines and deliverables to help keep departmental initiatives on schedule

• Maintain files, and departmental documentation to support coordination across fundraising, communications, and advocacy work

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Commitment to the mission of Grand St. Settlement and community-centered work

• Bachelor’s degree required

• 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising events, or a related field

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; personable and self-confident

• Strong working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems • Familiarity with ticketing or event management platforms

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google tools

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events

• Fluency in Spanish or Chinese a plus
