Supply Chain Manager in Ronkonkoma, New York at Lab Crafters Inc.

Lab Crafters is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimize end-to-end sourcing, manufacturing planning, and logistical operations at our facility in Ronkonkoma, NY. This role drives operational excellence by leading a high-performing procurement team, implementing robust data-driven forecasting frameworks, and managing complex supply chain networks to meet multimillion-dollar project demands.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Strategic Sourcing

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of buyers performing end-to-end sourcing and planning activities for high-dollar equipment and multimillion-dollar projects.

• Establish quarterly performance metrics for direct reportees and actively conduct performance reviews.

• Provide data-backed recommendations to the Executive team to support high-value, long-lead procurement decisions.

Inventory, Demand & Production Planning

• Own and lead the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) program to guarantee a continuous, uninterrupted supply of production parts.

• Synchronize Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Material Procurement workflows to consistently optimize and scale manufacturing throughput.

• Manage Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP) processes while supporting precise revenue forecasting utilizing sales backlog and pipeline projections.

• Apply strategic inventory techniques to reduce carry costs, improve manufacturing lead times, and systematically calculate safety stock and reorder levels.

Data Analytics, Systems & Process Optimization

• Serve as the functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Supply Chain, partnering directly with the IT department to design, develop, and deploy visual data dashboards in PowerBI, Tableau, and Microsoft Excel using raw ERP system data.

• Develop and implement data-driven analytical frameworks, including Purchase Price Variance (PPV) tracking models.

• Leverage advanced Material Resource Planning (MRP) and ERP systems to forecast requirements, execute blanket purchase orders, and monitor key supplier metrics.

• Analyze freight and logistics expenses, identifying market trends to recommend and implement impactful cost-reduction strategies.

• Evaluate modern production methods and recommend advanced manufacturing tools and equipment to continuously improve and streamline shop-floor processes.

Quality, Risk Mitigation & Supplier Relations

• Develop, maintain, and scale robust supplier networks and strategic long-term vendor partnerships.

• Oversee supplier onboarding, operational compliance, and performance monitoring utilizing KPIs, including On-Time Delivery, Supplier Lead Time, and Order Accuracy.

• Formulate and establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Defective Material Reporting in close coordination with the Quality Assurance department to resolve and prevent defects.

• Perform robust Risk Analysis and mitigation planning to address demand spikes, sudden shortages, sole-sourcing challenges, and long-lead disruptions.

Educational & Experience Requirements

• Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Supply Chain, or Industrial and Systems Engineering.

• Systems & Tools Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in ERP/MRP software, Microsoft Excel (advanced), Power BI, and Tableau.

• Project Management: Guiding cross-functional teams, structuring procurement timelines, and aligning resource constraints (schedule, budget, scope) to manage multimillion-dollar projects.

• Data Analytics in Engineering: Mining and processing complex datasets using Power BI, Tableau, and Excel to build dashboards, analyze market trends, and drive executive-level decision-making.

• Engineering Decision Making: Applying advanced probability modeling, risk modeling, and quantitative multi-variable sensitivity analyses to resolve complex operational trade-offs.

• Advanced Manufacturing Processes: Recommending and integrating modern day manufacturing technologies to optimize workflow efficiencies on the factory floor.

• Planning & Operations Engineering: Optimizing supply/demand variables, capacity planning, and sequencing workflows to steadily scale overall manufacturing output.

• Supply Chain Engineering: Designing resilient, end-to-end supply chain processes to proactively identify, mitigate, and resolve multi-tiered logistical bottlenecks.

• Quality Management: Implementing statistical quality control (SQC) methods, structuring robust check processes, and establishing SOPs for defective material resolution.

• Risk Analysis & Mitigation: Designing frameworks to safeguard operations against demand surges, lead time delays, and single-source supplier vulnerabilities.
