Position Summary: |
The Maintenance Programs Specialist serves as a key technical and operational resource within the maintenance organization responsible for administering, evaluating, and continuously improving maintenance programs and processes supporting facility operations. The position works with a high degree of independence while serving as a subject matter resource to maintenance leadership regarding maintenance program effectiveness, compliance, performance improvement, and implementation of maintenance management principles. The position provides technical expertise and practical application experience associated with maintenance management principles and requirements, including implementation of maintenance programs consistent with Department of Energy requirements and industry practices. The role independently evaluates maintenance program effectiveness, identifies process deficiencies, analyzes operational impacts, develops corrective actions, and advises maintenance leadership regarding program improvements and performance initiatives. The position routinely applies independent judgment and technical expertise to analyze maintenance program issues, evaluate alternative solutions, interpret program requirements, resolve process challenges, and develop solutions relied upon by management to improve maintenance performance, regulatory compliance, and organizational effectiveness. This position then oversees solution implementation. |

Education & Experience: |
Level 1: A bachelor’s degree in the field of expertise or other closely related discipline; and at least one (1) year of relevant experience. Level 2: A bachelor’s degree in the field of expertise or other closely related discipline; and at least three (3) year of relevant experience. Additional experience may substitute for the lack of education on a one-for-one year basis or vice versa. |
