You will help build and scale the capabilities of a commercial organization by turning field insights into practical, high-impact learning experiences. The position combines training delivery, instructional design, field performance analysis, and commercial enablement. You will spend significant time alongside sales representatives, clinical specialists, managers, and customers to understand how training translates into real-world performance. Your work will directly support faster competency development, stronger selling capabilities, and improved commercial outcomes. - Facilitate onboarding, sales training, and commercial development programs across national meetings, regional events, virtual sessions, and field-based environments.
- Coach learners on the practical application of sales skills, clinical knowledge, product expertise, and selling methodologies in real customer situations.
- Support manager-led development initiatives and field coaching programs designed to reinforce learning and improve performance.
- Spend approximately 50% of the role in the field, partnering with sales representatives, clinical specialists, managers, and customers to observe real-world performance.
- Identify performance gaps and development opportunities by assessing how sales, clinical, and product knowledge are applied in customer environments.
- Translate field observations, voice-of-customer feedback, and voice-of-field insights into actionable training priorities and learning interventions.
- Partner with commercial leadership to connect training initiatives with measurable business outcomes and organizational priorities.
- Design and develop training materials, job aids, assessments, facilitator guides, digital learning assets, and other enablement resources.
- Work with subject-matter experts to translate complex clinical and technical concepts into practical, accessible, learner-focused content.
- Develop instructor-led, virtual, and e-learning experiences supporting onboarding, role development, product launches, and commercial capability building.
- Continuously update and improve learning materials based on field feedback, learner needs, business priorities, and performance data.
- Measure training effectiveness through learning, behavioral, and business metrics, including speed-to-competency, adoption, certification, and performance indicators.
- Recommend improvements to training programs and commercial enablement strategies based on data, field observations, and learner feedback.
- Support the ongoing evolution of commercial learning strategies and capabilities as the organization grows.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience preferred.
- Proven experience delivering sales training focused on solution selling, capital sales processes, sales methodologies, or comparable commercial capabilities.
- Experience selling into hospitals, health systems, or other complex healthcare environments.
- Clinical, commercial, medical technology, or healthcare operations experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience developing training content and e-learning programs from initial concept through deployment.
- Strong instructional design capabilities and a solid understanding of adult learning principles.
- Experience working directly with field teams to diagnose performance gaps and translate findings into practical development solutions.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, coaching, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority and collaborate effectively across sales, clinical, marketing, and leadership functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to connect learning activity to business performance.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment with limited structure, competing priorities, and changing business needs.
- Experience with learning management systems and digital learning platforms is preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, adaptability, and relationship-building skills.
- Bay Area base salary range of $128,350–$173,650 USD.
- National base salary range of $109,098–$147,603 USD.
