Role Overview
LVN is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing services. This role is accountable for delivering measurable results aligned with departmental and organizational goals and ensuring alignment with our company vision and core values.
Areas of Accountability
This position is directly accountable for the following key areas:
- Provides cultural and socioeconomic sensitivity in dealing with clients/staff of diverse backgrounds.
- Executes orders written by the provider such as family planning methods, referrals, medications and immunizations, lab follow-ups, prior authorizations, and counseling.
- Provides patients with education.
- Manages medical assistants and assures standards of care are followed for all clinic grant programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including special tasks involved in responding to an emergency event.
Education, Licensure/Certification:
- Currently licensed to practice as a Vocational Nurse in the State of Texas by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
- Valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation for occasional travel to other clinics
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
Experience, Skills/Abilities Related Requirements:
- Three years of full-time work experience as an LVN in a hospital or clinic setting.
- Prior experience in public health, community health services, pediatrics, family planning, or infection control/communicable disease is preferred.
- Strong ability in navigating in an Electronic Health Record
- Demonstrated competency in multi-tasking, TVFC/ASN, administrating medications and vaccines, and managing medical assistants.
- Soft skills such as communication, adaptability, teamwork.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records, Teams platform, faxing, and word.
Continuing Education and Training Requirements:
- Maintain current CEUs as needed for license certification.
- BLS certification
