Job Description

Senior Content Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Content Engineer based in United States.

This role combines technical writing, content engineering, distribution, SEO, and AI-assisted production in a highly hands-on environment.
You will own the full content lifecycle, from deciding what to create and writing it to distributing it and measuring its impact.
Your work will span technical articles, research, product updates, newsletters, social content, developer communities, and digital campaigns.
You will translate complex engineering concepts into precise, compelling content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
The role also gives you ownership of organic and paid growth, including SEO, GEO, AI visibility, and content performance.
Automation and AI tools will be central to scaling production, with a strong emphasis on experimentation and efficient workflows.
This is an opportunity for an independent, technically minded content professional to work directly with founders and own measurable business outcomes.

Accountabilities:

As a Senior Content Engineer, you will take end-to-end ownership of content production and distribution, combining strong editorial judgment with technical skills, automation, and data-driven growth.

  • Plan and produce a high volume of content, including blog posts, research articles, essays, changelogs, product update emails, newsletters, and social content.
  • Create technical content based on engineering research, product developments, industry events, and relevant news.
  • Adapt complex technical topics for both engineering audiences and non-technical readers while maintaining precision and clarity.
  • Interview founders, engineers, and customers to capture original insights and develop them into compelling stories.
  • Publish and distribute content across the website, LinkedIn, developer communities, Hacker News, Reddit, and other relevant channels.
  • Contribute to SEO, GEO, AI visibility, and paid acquisition initiatives.
  • Monitor rankings, backlinks, AI citations, traffic, signups, and other performance indicators using tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, and Google Search Console.
  • Measure the business impact of content and use performance data to continuously improve the content strategy.
  • Build automated workflows for content production, scheduling, publishing, and distribution using AI tools and scripting.
  • Develop and contribute to content playbooks, positioning, and the broader narrative guiding published work.
  • Keep production moving at a high volume while automating repetitive tasks wherever possible.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a strong writer with technical fluency, a proven record of producing content that attracts an audience, and the ability to independently manage the entire content and distribution process.

  • Demonstrated experience producing published content that generated meaningful traction, such as newsletters with engaged subscribers, widely shared technical articles, or content reaching developer communities.
  • Excellent writing skills with a preference for clear, factual, precise, and intentional language.
  • Ability to write technical, mechanism-focused content for engineers and explain the same concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Sufficient coding and scripting ability to automate content workflows and build AI-assisted production and distribution pipelines.
  • Strong hands-on experience using Claude, Claude Code, Claude Cowork, or comparable AI tools as part of a daily content production workflow.
  • Ability to develop effective prompts, evaluate AI-generated output, and determine when to trust, refine, or override AI results.
  • Strong interviewing skills, including the ability to extract meaningful opinions and insights and turn them into compelling stories.
  • Practical knowledge of Hacker News, LinkedIn, developer communities, SEO, and AI-driven content discovery.
  • Hands-on experience with SEO analytics tools such as Ahrefs or Semrush and Google Search Console.
  • Ability to analyze rankings, backlinks, AI citations, traffic, conversions, and other content performance metrics.
  • Strong ownership mentality, with the ability to determine what should be written and published without requiring detailed weekly briefs.
  • Experience working with skeptical or technically sophisticated audiences is preferred.
  • Experience producing research-driven writing or thought leadership that influenced how an audience approached a problem is a plus.
  • Experience creating or publishing YouTube videos or using AI video tools is a plus.

Benefits:

  • Fully remote position within the United States.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Health insurance.
  • Conference and learning budget.
  • Access to Claude Code, Claude Cowork, and other AI tools for daily production at scale.
  • Opportunity to work directly with founders in a small, high-impact team.
  • Ownership of the full content lifecycle, from initial concept and writing through distribution and measurable results.
  • Access to original engineering research and direct insights from technical teams.
  • Occasional travel to meet the team in person.
  • Four-week paid probation following the hiring process.
