Situated within the shared, unceded territory of the L̓il̓wat7úl (Líl̓wat People) and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish People), the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) is a vibrant destination resort community, local government organization and leader in providing municipal programs, services, progressive planning and infrastructure. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the General Manager of Infrastructure Services, is accountable for the overall direction and management of the Infrastructure Services Division. As a member of the senior management team, this role assists in creating and implementing strategic direction for the entire organization.

The Infrastructure Services Division provides leadership and technical expertise to Council, residents, taxpayers, visitors and the Municipality in the areas of engineering services and subdivision approval; municipal water, sanitary sewer collection and wastewater treatment systems; municipal garage and fleet management; central stores purchasing; roads, drainage, and flood protection infrastructure; facilities construction and management; the municipal solid waste, recycling and composting systems, and the Cheakamus Crossing District Energy System and also provides engineering and technical support to other divisions and departments for large cross-departmental initiatives. The role collaborates with community, resort, and other partners to support a balanced and sustainable carrying capacity for the resort community. The General Manager leads the Division in strategic planning, corporate initiatives, and delivery of division objectives within the Corporate Plan and Official Community Plan.

As a member of the senior management team, and one of four General Manager positions, this role contributes to the development and achievement of municipal corporate objectives. The General Manager of Infrastructure Services leads the Division through the following direct reports: Manager of Engineering Services, Manager of Transportation and Waste Management, Manager of Utilities, Manager of Infrastructure Projects, Manager of Facilities and Central Services and an Administrative Assistant.

Qualified candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, along with at least 10 years of senior executive experience managing project portfolios in municipal engineering and infrastructure or with a consulting engineering firm that provides municipal engineering services. Candidates should demonstrate strategic planning experience in addressing service needs and advancing improvements within a dynamic resort community, with an emphasis on regulatory compliance and high-quality municipal infrastructure services. Candidates should also have experience managing significant budgets and reserve funds, including financial analysis and reporting; a proven record of accomplishments with stakeholder engagement and coordination with an ability to build rapport quickly and assess, identify and convey key findings.

We offer a comprehensive benefit package, a nine-day fortnight schedule, and eligibility to participate in the organization’s recreation and transit pass program, as well as our hybrid work program.
