Financial Planning & Analysis Manager in Lexington, Kentucky at LBX Company LLC

Position Summary:

Manager responsible for the analysis of financial information and creation of company-wide, consolidated forecasts. Must ensure the information is accurate, timely, and useful for executive review and decision making. Emphasis is placed on identifying and implementing process development and continuous improvement initiatives. Manages the FP&A team and is accountable for their work. This position supports outside departments, the Corporate Controller and Chief Financial Officer by serving as a subject matter expert and providing solution recommendations to situations as they arise.

Essential Functions:

25% - Manages development of the annual budget and regular forecasting process and financials. Validates that company-wide budgets and forecasts are challenging and realistic. Challenges all areas of the organization for continuous improvement of financial results. Manages completion of the board and business review presentations.

20% - Manages analysis of actual results to budget and forecast; understands and communicates explanation of the drivers and impacts to the business for LBX management. Collaborates with cross-functional departments in developing appropriate financial processes for measuring and evaluating key business metrics and actual performance.

20% - Manages the analysis of machine profitability including price, cost, marketing programs and discounts in relation to margin. Works with Marketing to manage discount compliance. Provides pricing recommendations to Sales and Marketing in establishing product prices and marketing programs.

15% - Manages and leads the FP&A team in accomplishing team’s goals as well as developing the skillset of those employees.

15% - Provides support and serves as a subject matter expert to the Corporate Controller and the Chief Financial Officer. Special projects as requested.

5% - Identifies LBX risk and opportunities. Collaborates with department managers and identifies ways to maximize opportunities and minimize risks. Escalates risk and opportunity concerns and solutions as needed to Corporate Controller.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Highly organized and able to manage simultaneous deadline-oriented projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to non-financial audiences.
• Able to understand and interpret financial information.
• Able maintain an efficient and effective team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4-year undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 7 years of work-related experience as Business Financial Analyst or equivalent position.
• 2 years management experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with both internal and external personnel.
• Strong analytical capabilities.
• Strong computer skills including spreadsheets, databases, accounting systems and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of SQL, Tableau, Jet Reporting, Power BI, or other reporting software recommended.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Directly manages FP&A team and demonstrates leadership throughout entire company.

Travel Expectations:

• This role can expect minimal travel, including overnight and potentially weekend or international travel.

Working Conditions:

• This position requires spending time in a seated position while working at a computer station for extended periods of time. Work also requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, hearing, talking and lifting (up to 20 pounds).
