If you are organized, dependable, and enjoy working in a hands-on aviation environment, The Blackhawk Group is seeking a Shop Assistant to join our team in Columbia, MO.
This role plays an important part in supporting our maintenance and parts operations by managing resale inventory, organizing documentation, assisting with administrative projects, and helping maintain efficient shop operations. The Shop Assistant works closely with the Parts Manager, service center personnel, and administrative staff to support aircraft maintenance activities and inventory management processes.

What You’ll Do
• Review permanently removed avionics and airframe parts for disposal or resale opportunities
• Assist with researching and assigning resale pricing to aircraft parts
• Produce FAA 8130 forms and FAA status tags based on inspection data
• Input resale parts into inventory system and upload supporting documentation
• Organize and store resale inventory with proper FAA airworthiness documentation
• Dispose of parts with no resale value following company procedures
• Run and modify inventory reports and submit inventory listings to parts database search engines
• Assist with disposal or sale of stale inventory
• Assist with shipping and receiving
• Support administrative staff with paperwork and documentation projects
• Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring to the Table
Required Qualifications and Skills:
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous aviation maintenance or repair shop experience
• Experience working with inventory systems or parts management
• Familiarity with FAA documentation and aviation terminology
• Prior warehouse, shop support, or administrative experience

Pay Range: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour Depending on Experience
