The PMO Portfolio Lead will play a critical role in ensuring delivery excellence across a portfolio of complex projects within a fully remote and global environment.
This position acts as the central point of visibility for project health, risks, financial performance, and execution quality.
The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on collaboration, partnering with Project Managers and senior stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.
You will help establish strong governance practices, improve delivery predictability, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
By proactively identifying risks and opportunities, you will enable teams to move from reactive problem-solving to proactive delivery assurance.

The PMO Portfolio Lead is responsible for driving portfolio-level delivery assurance, ensuring projects follow established governance standards and maintaining a proactive approach to risk management. This role requires strong collaboration with project teams, business stakeholders, and leadership to provide accurate insights and support continuous improvement.
- Ensure delivery readiness for new projects, including handoffs, onboarding activities, and governance setup.
- Own project health monitoring across an assigned portfolio, ensuring consistent reporting, visibility, and accountability.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID), creating mitigation strategies before challenges impact delivery.
- Monitor project financial performance, including revenue, margins, forecasting, cost risks, and value realization.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex project challenges, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder alignment.
- Provide clear, data-driven reporting and recommendations to leadership teams regarding portfolio performance.
- Partner with Project Managers to ensure delivery practices, methodologies, and quality standards are consistently applied.
- Support the selection, onboarding, and enablement of Project Managers within delivery teams.
- Improve delivery processes, reporting frameworks, governance practices, and forecasting accuracy.
- Build trusted relationships across delivery, account management, sales, and operational teams to improve collaboration and execution.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience managing complex project portfolios, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate operational data into strategic insights. You should be comfortable working independently in a remote environment while influencing teams and stakeholders without direct authority.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing multi-project portfolios or complex delivery programs.
- PMP certification required.
- Proven experience coordinating across client-facing and internal stakeholder groups.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and delivery best practices.
- Ability to connect project execution, financial performance, and business value into clear reporting and recommendations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize insights from multiple data sources.
- Experience managing risks, dependencies, escalations, and delivery challenges in dynamic environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong facilitation abilities in virtual settings.
