This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Transportation Analyst based in the United States.

This role provides analytical and operational support across a broad North American transportation network.
You will turn complex freight, shipment, carrier, and cost data into actionable business insights.
The position plays an important role in identifying savings, improving network efficiency, and tracking transportation performance.
You will work closely with Transportation, Procurement, Warehousing, Customer Service, and Finance teams.
The role combines hands-on data analysis with continuous improvement, reporting, and business planning.
You will contribute to strategic network optimization initiatives while supporting day-to-day operational decisions.
This is an opportunity to build expertise in transportation analytics while helping drive measurable supply chain performance.

Accountabilities
  • Analyze transportation spend, shipment volumes, cube, rates, and mode data across TL, LTL, and parcel operations to identify cost drivers, savings opportunities, and efficiency improvements.
  • Develop and maintain reporting for key freight KPIs, including transportation spend as a percentage of sales, cost per hundredweight, out-of-network freight, mode mix, and carrier on-time performance.
  • Support Monthly Business Reviews by preparing performance materials, tracking productivity goals, and communicating relevant findings and trends to leadership.
  • Reconcile data across TMS, Power BI, SAP, FPBI exports, and other systems to maintain accurate and consistent reporting.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and analytical tools that provide stakeholders with clear visibility into transportation performance.
  • Analyze routes, distribution centers, carrier performance, freight terms, routing guide compliance, and mode-shift opportunities to support network optimization and cost reduction.
  • Provide scenario modeling and financial analysis for proposed transportation or distribution changes and contribute to network optimization business cases.
  • Support annual productivity planning, continuous improvement initiatives, carrier RFPs, and implementation tracking.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI, automation, and digital tools to streamline recurring transportation workflows, reduce manual effort, and accelerate access to insights.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Warehousing, Customer Service, Finance, and other stakeholders to address transportation requirements and provide timely analytical support.
  • Respond to ad hoc data and reporting requests accurately and efficiently while maintaining strong data integrity.
  • Contribute to transportation optimization projects and broader initiatives designed to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and strengthen supply chain performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 2–4 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain analytics, operations, finance, or a related analytical function.
  • Familiarity with multiple transportation modes, including truckload, less-than-truckload, parcel, ocean, and air, as well as core transportation management concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience working with large datasets and translating complex information into practical recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, data modeling, and VLOOKUP; experience with Power BI, transportation management systems, or SAP is preferred.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices, including DOT and hours-of-service considerations.
  • Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to maintain data accuracy and consistency across complex reporting environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, or other data analytics tools is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions, manage competing priorities, and deliver accurate work within established timelines.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally, with travel expected to remain below 25%.
Benefits
  • Annual salary and compensation aligned with the role and candidate qualifications.
  • Full-time, remote opportunity based in the United States.
  • Opportunity to work across transportation, supply chain, procurement, finance, warehousing, and customer service functions.
  • Exposure to large-scale freight analytics, network optimization, productivity initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Opportunities to develop expertise in Power BI, SAP, TMS platforms, transportation analytics, and emerging automation and AI tools.
  • Collaborative environment focused on measurable operational improvements and data-driven decision-making.
  • Less than 25% travel.
